WORK 011/2006 May 10, 2006 Re: Clarification of the operating result for the Quarter ended March 31, 2006 To: President of the Stock Exchange of Thailand Workpoint Entertainment Public Company Limited (The Company) are pleased to submit herewith the consolidated and company financial statements for the quarter ended March 31, 2006. The operating results compared to the quarter ended March 31, 2005 are as follow: The operating performance of the company and its subsidiaries for the quarter ended March 31, 2006 has show the net profit of 60.51 Million Baht, which decreased by 0.64 Million Baht when compared to the 61.15 Million Baht of the quarter ended March 31, 2005 or decreased 1.1%. The main reasons of such decrease are as follow: Revenue For the quarter ended March 31, 2006 the company had the total revenue for the total amount of 305.97 Million baht from four main business, which were TV Program production for 271.17 Million baht, Publishing for 7.03 Million baht, Animation 1.47 Million Baht and Movie 19.39 Million Baht, which increased 25.60% when compared to the 243.61 Million Baht of the quarter ended March 31, 2006. The main reasons of such increase are as follow: 1) TV Program production Business The company has ability to sell the advertising minute more efficiency which were made the revenue increased by 16.38% from the quarter 1, 2005. although the average broadcasting time per week decreased from 1,283 minutes in quarter 1, 2005 to 1,260 minutes in quarter 1, 2006. 2) Publishing Business In quarter 1, 2006 The company had introduced the new Magazines San Katoon which were made the revenue increased by 23.10% from the same period of last year. 3) Animation Business The company has the revenue from the animation business 1.47 Million Baht (The Animation business started to operate in Quarter 1, 2005) 4) Movie Business The company has the revenue from the movie business 19.39 Million Baht (The movie business started to operate in Quarter 4, 2005) Cost of Production TV Program Production Business For the quarter 1 2006, the company had cost of production for the total amount of 127.77 Million Baht which increased by 17.69 Million Baht when compared to the 110.08 Million Baht of the quarter ended March 31, 2005 or increased by 16.07% or equal cost of production: total TV business revenue at 47.12 % which was closely to the same period of last year that had cost of production: total TV business revenue at 47.24% Publishing Business The cost of production has increased 66.37% from the period of last year due to increased of paper cost and publishing cost. - Selling and Administration Expenses. For the quarter 1, 2006, the company had total selling and administration expensed for the total amount of 74.73 Million Baht or equal selling and administration Expenses: total revenue at 24.43% which higher portion than last year that had selling and administration expenses for the total amount of 49.29 Million Baht or equal Selling and Administration Expenses: total revenue at 20.23%. The main reason were increase of selling and administration expense resulted from additional investment of new companies in TV production which were Bang Fire Studio Company Limited and Toh Gloam Television Company Limited. The company also invested in Animation and movie business in year 2005.
